Dakshin Bharat Jain Sabha Jain Next, a prominent social organization for Digambar Jains in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Goa, celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2024. Notably, many of its presidents have hailed from North India. The first president was Swastishree Bhattarak Pattacharya Laxmisenji, Kolhapur & the seating president is renowned industrialist, educationist & social worker Mr. Bhalchandra Virendra Patil, Sangli Sabha has taken significant steps to sustained minority status for Digambar Jains in India by filing a writ petition in the Supreme Court. Additionally, the organization funds various educational institutions and offers substantial scholarships to meritorious poor Jain students pursuing higher education from South India. Each year, it honors distinguished individuals from the Digambar Jain community with the Karmveer Bhaurao Patil Samaj Seva Puraskar and recognizes excellence in journalism through special awards.
